Unbelievable though it is, the Broadleaf Writers Conference is turning ten (!!!) and we’re ready to celebrate! In addition to our usual schedule of sessions, workshops, and pitch and mentoring sessions over two days, we’re adding some celebratory components you won’t want to miss. At the very top of that list: A group of all-star speakers from the past nine years unlike any ever assembled.
Featuring bestselling authors Patti Callahan Henry, Colleen Oakley, Kimberly Brock, Jeffrey Dale Lofton, Kimberly L. Jones, Piper Huguley, Clay McLeod Chapman, Shaun Hamill, and the writer of Wolverine: Origin and comic book and video game icon Paul Jenkins, we’re throwing out the red carpet for some of your favorites in 2025! When our list is complete, we’ll have more than a dozen amazing authors, and feature a deeper list of literary agents and editors for you to meet with!
The 10th Annual Broadleaf Writers Conference will return to the Decatur Library in Decatur, Georgia on September 20-21, 2025! Now through September 30th, 2024, you can take advantage of our pre-registration special. Join us now for this fantastic celebration, and be first in line to select your pitch and mentoring sessions. For $150 today, you will get full benefit of BOTH days. This will be the only time we offer this rate, so take advantage now!
INVEST IN YOU! Attending a writing conference is an opportunity to invest in yourself as a writer, to learn from experts, and to become a part of a community of writers that inspire, uplift and support one another!
With your registration, you will receive access to all sessions of the 10th Annual Broadleaf Writers Conference and you will be able to schedule a one-on-one with a literary agent or publisher rep! Additionally, we offer you the opportunity to schedule one-on-one mentoring sessions with an author or agent of your choice. This is great chance to learn more about writing and the publishing industry without the pressure of a pitch!
On Saturday, September 20th, we will once again present a First Pages Critique featuring a panel of agents and publishers representatives. Be sure to submit your first page prior to the conference in order to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to get your manuscript on the right path!
Thanks in large part to our experience conducting virtual conferences through the pandemic, we’re excited to offer a virtual component as well! For any reason that you may have, you can now choose to attend our in-person conference from your home! With a virtual registration, you still get the option to add a pitch session (these will be handled prior to, or after, the conference, depending on availability of the agent), attend any panel or workshop you would like, and ask questions during the Q&A portions of each session. As well, every paid attendee will receive complete recordings of all panels and workshops! So, no more missing sessions! You get to see them all!
If you would like a sample of how we handle the virtual feed to our conference, here’s our recording of the First Pages Critique from last year.
If you’re coming from out of town, there are plenty of hotels in the area. We will once again arrange for a room block at the Courtyard Marriot in downtown Decatur (2 blocks from the library). The rate offers you a considerable discount, so once it’s available, book right away! Rooms are limited.
Broadleaf Writers maintains a strict Code of Conduct for all attendees and speakers. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our expectations.
Refund Policy: We understand that sometimes, things happen. You’ve registered, but you can’t make it. However, as costs to facilitate the conference are applied in advance, you may not receive the entirety of your registration costs back. Up to 30 days before the event (Friday, August 22nd), you can receive 100% of your cost back. After that, we cannot refund any of your registration. For more information, or if you have any questions on the refund policy, please email Maryann Lozano at conferencechair@broadleafwriters.com.
