The 9th Annual Broadleaf Writers Conference will return to the Decatur Library in Decatur, Georgia on September 21-22, 2024! With one of the strongest lists of authors you will ever find at a conference, a fabulous list of agents and editors, educational panels and workshops, and plenty of opportunities to meet and share your work, the 9th Annual Broadleaf Writers Conference will offer you all that you need to refine and improve your craft and get you on the road toward publication!
INVEST IN YOU! Attending a writing conference is an opportunity to invest in yourself as a writer, to learn from experts, and to become a part of a community of writers that inspire, uplift and support one another!
With your registration, you will receive access to all sessions of the 9th Annual Broadleaf Writers Conference and you will be able to schedule a one-on-one with a literary agent or publisher rep and a one-on-one mentoring session with an author, agent, or editor of your choice. This is great chance to learn more about writing and the publishing industry without the pressure of a pitch!
On Saturday, September 21st, we will once again present a First Pages Critique (video link below) featuring a panel of agents and publishers representatives. Be sure to submit your first page prior to the conference in order to take advantage of this fantastic opportunity to get your manuscript on the right path!
Thanks in large part to our experience conducting virtual conferences through the pandemic, we’re excited to once again offer a virtual component! For any reason that you may have, you can now choose to attend our in-person conference from your home! With a virtual registration, you still get the option to add a pitch session (these will be handled prior to, or after, the conference, depending on availability of the agent), attend any panel or workshop you would like, and ask questions during the Q&A portions of each session. As well, every attendee will receive complete recordings of all panels and workshops! So, no more missing sessions! You get to see them all!
If you would like a sample of how we handle the virtual feed to our conference, here’s our recording of the First Pages Critique from last year.
If you’re coming from out of town, there are plenty of hotels in the area, two within walking distance of the library.
Our speaker list is as solid as ever, headlined by #1 New York Times bestselling author Mary Kay Andrews! Check our speaker page for a complete list of our speakers.
Broadleaf Writers maintains a strict Code of Conduct for all attendees and speakers. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with our expectations.
Refund Policy: We understand that sometimes, things happen. You’ve registered, but you can’t make it. However, as costs to facilitate the conference are applied in advance, you may not receive the entirety of your registration costs back. Up to 30 days before the event (Wednesday August 21st), you can receive 100% of your cost back. After that, we cannot refund any of your registration. For more information, or if you have any questions on the refund policy, please email Maryann Lozano at conferencechair@broadleafwriters.com.
